Ive been learning what to say

So many shades of gray

There is comfort in these brown walls

In this empty hall a soul releases

Though I never gave it

That much thought at all

I think up things to say and

When I pray I gain no faith

Weak in the shadows holding on



What you thought was real

And what you wanted most

Erases like a ghost

You cant help but feel

Tied down to the shame

At the whisper of a name



I placed a secret in your palm

Whose hand will I one day hold

If I ever hold again

I have a letter marked to Abraham

There are sacrifices to be made

So many souls to save

I have a jar sealed watertight

These thoughts that keep you up at night
