Im casting dreams around you, I am your shadow side

Im opening the darkness, the doors you hide away

I wonder why each meeting should cause you so much fright

When Im only just the side of you thats blocked out by the light

But still you all deny me and leave yourself less whole

In darkness were not blinded to the inner shadow soul

Im part of every one of you, the part you learn to hate

The crone, the dying mortal fears you refuse to integrate

And so become unbalanced, obsessed with golden light

But how can it be natural to strive to banish night

And think ourselves above the laws that govern all the Earth

And make ourselves our own God, with a plastic virgin birth

Where everything is beautiful, because were all too scared to say

How wrong it is, and false it is, instead just Have a nice day

But even if we did say maybe theyll change our DNA

Then well no more cast a shadow and not care either way
