the half mile off the exit ramp to sample local style

They'll never find the barber, the store or the bakery

unless they get off the big road, to see the scenery

The old road was a lifeline, revolving around our dreams

we built our homes along the edge and then were put to sleep

by the wheels of the traffic rolling slowly through our town

Will this all up and fade away when they close the old road down
