You Shriek



Pandora lies awake with her eyes on the box

She never looks away

She stares and loses time

She beats her fists on the shiny black lid

No noise from within

It lies there quiet

And still she never leaves the room

Her curtains are drawn

And I'd nail it shut but I wouldn't want to lose it
