a little candy ring and a mystic ocean's shell

but they were anesthetized

and slowly washed away

and left all the poison in the sands in which I played



I don't mind falling down and scraping up my knees

but with my eyes as wide as pearls

my only centerpiece

is taken like a dead man's urn and tossed into the sea
